Parity you say? Let's shop the USA!

October 17, 2010

By jove the exchange rate is a cracker these days, so do yourself a favour and shop the USA while the going's good. No need to pack your bags either, most reputable stores offer international delivery at the click of a mouse. Saks Fifth Avenue and Shop Bop should be your first stops for designer fashion. Dwell Studio is a must for sheets and other fabulous home textiles. For jewellery, I'm loving the range at Me & Ro and the custom-made word necklaces at PoupetteSachin + Babi, for Ankasa, sell the most divine cushions known to man (you may want to be sitting down for the prices though (Oscar de la Renta loves them for a reason!). If you like a bit of a boho vibe, check-out Anthropologie for some beautiful (and affordable) homewares. I'll be hitting-up the Jonathan Adler store in a big way - you can avoid their "flat rate" for international shipping by contacting them and asking for a specific quote (much cheaper). Stock-up on essential stationery items for your third-drawer-down at Rifle Paper Co. and Sycamore Street Press. Now is the time to put aside a day for Etsy vintage-scouting too - don't make me remind you again people! Multiple purchases improve the freighting costs - which, frankly, is just more fun for everyone.
